This past week at Moody i learned about the theology of Luke. Luke is a part of a group of gospels called Synoptic Gospels. It consists of Matthew, Mark, and Luke. They put a particular emphasis on the individual writers. The main problem scholars look at is the relationship the books have with one another. One theory is that there are no specific writting form. Theres an interdependence theory. Which states that the Mark used material from Matthew and Luke used material from both Matthew and Mark. Theres another theory that they all borrowed info from the same different source. The theology of Luke is to stress the universality of the gospel and that Jesus is the redeemer of the world.

Luke 1-
In Luke 1, the birth of Jesus and John are foretold. An angel appeared to both Mary and Zechariah. The angel each told them that they will concieve a child. Zechariah had trouble believing so the angel silenced him and he wasnt able to speak until John was born and after, blessed and praise God. Mary had a humbled heart and was completly blessed...I wonder if I would question God if an angel appeared to me like that?

Luke 2- The birth of Jesus happens. Jesus is presented and dedicated at the temple. I found it interesting how in Exodus, they made it a LAW to dedicate your child to the Lord. I loved how Jesus said that his parents shouldve known he had to be in his FATHERS house.

Luke 3- John warned the crowd who was following Jesus. He warns them to producd fruit in keeping with repentance. Basicly to stay out of Gods wrath.

Luke 4- I thought it focuses on the Holy spirit and Gods humanity and deity. The Holy spirit never leaves Jesus and he was born WITH the Holy spirit. The Holy Spirit is a real person it is God. (Trinity).
